Saturday/Sunday. 1 AM

1 AM on a Saturday night (which technically is a Sunday morning, but no one cares.  I'm tired, leave me alone)

Insert cliched comment about being in ones early 20s: Something about "at one point 1 AM meant there's still an hour of bar time left" Then sprinkle in another cliched comment about child rearing: "now 1 AM means feedings, etc" blah blah blah. You get the point.  So where am I going with this?

Early this morning Lea and Connor called an impromptu family meeting which happened to start sometime between 1 and 1:30 AM.  I'm hazy on the details, it was over 30 minutes after a feeding so I was just getting back to sleep.   Regardless Kate and I were not willing participates to this emergency family gathering in our bedroom.  Connor and Lea were the two most alert members, there fore they led the thing.  Upon Lea's request, and Connor not speaking English yet, we had a screening of PBS's "Wild Kratts."  If you have never watched "Wild Kratts" in the middle of the night with no sleep, well then you haven't lived.  (Actually you're probably living a complete life. If you have make it without ever watching the Kratts, as I like to call them, then you're not missing much.  Its not that they're "Wiggles" bad, its just that Lea has been watching them non-stop for the last week+.  Damn you Netflix.  Arrested Development's return supposed to be better as well.)

I've got some old updates that I've meant to post for awhile now but have not.  My excuse is that the two kids make time go by quickly.  It seems that I'm getting up and going to bed in about the same breath.

Way back in June, Connor, had a doctor's appointment. (Two week check up which was really at a week and a half).  Turns out he gains weight easily.  He shot past his birth weight (he was 8.5 lbs).  Connor also grew.  He was somewhere over 21 inches.  As for percentiles he's in the bottom percent in everything for makes living in this house.  On the other hand he is in the 100th percentile in everything for babies living in this house.  So there you go.

Lea made me very proud over the last three weeks. (Rivaling her eating a whole Totino's Pizza)

1. We went and played football, sort of, on the football field near by. This consisted of her running from one 10 yard line to another and then spinning.  (By the way, this football field is a part of a soccer complex and is made of field turf.  It's nicer than the field I played on in high school. Just sayin)

2. She asked to play Street Fighter II with me.  (A video game, featuring Street Fighters.  She loves the girl fighters of course.  She gets super excited to use the controller and get mopped up by the computer.  We're working on it)

3. She's requested protein shakes multiple times.  I think once we get potty training completely locked down I can get her started in the gym.  She's pretty skinny, she needs to put on some mass.

4. She's also requested to watch Stephen Colbert.  Which makes me really happy. (She's a fan of the Colbert's book "I'm a Pole, and so can You.")

This is a video of Lea helping give Connor a bath.  I assume this will be used as blackmail some day.  God bless the Internet.

Connor sleeping on his first visit to Kate's farm.  So far he has had the chance to sleep on all four of his grand parents.

We got the chance to go to Omaha to see by brothers Greg and Jason and their families.  Jason and the crew were up from Georgia.   Lea had the chance to play with lots of cousins at Uncle Greg's house.  I forgot to take pictures, or my phone died.  I forget.  We did get a picture of Lea and I riding a Ferris Wheel that for some reason is inside Sheels in Omaha.

Kate and Lea cooking together.  Yes, the apron Kate has on has "LEA" printed on it.

This is the best picture of Lea at the football field.  There are soccer nets set up under the goal posts.  Lea was attempting to push her head through the net, because that's what she does.

This is the view from my lap and yes Connor was able to sleep through Lea using my lap as a jungle gym.  I was unable to move for over an hour.  So that was my Saturday morning.

This was my 5 am wake call this morning.

Lea picked out her and Kate's outfits this morning.  They're ballerina's.

Lea holding Connor.  It took two weeks of being around Connor before she was actually willing to hold him.  I believe this has to do with her discomfort with emotional situations.  Anyone who has tried to get a hug from her understands what I mean.
