Little Miss Lea "Santina" Grace Sand turned one whole month yesterday. In celebration of that mile stone Mom (Kate) decided to place the responsibility of providing her nourishment with the less responsible of the two of us. That's right. Daddy got to feed her.
From what I learned post-feeding on the "Internet" the feeding went rather well. Apparently some babies refuse the bottle because they can smell their mommas nearby. Which makes me wonder why more babies are not employed as drug dogs, but I digress.
Lea willingly took the bottle (Kate was in the next room, leading me to believe that our daughter would never make it in the police K-9 unit) and that's when it got interesting. I think most of the milk ended up in her belly, but she occasionally forgot to swallow. She went from having a milk mustache, to a milk goatee, and then a milk beard which wrapped around the back of her neck. She also was less impressed with me after feeding than she is with Kate after getting the good stuff. Rather than the awesome drunken sailor look, she gave me the angry sailor (probably drunken as well, it's hard to tell) look. So to lessen to emotional scaring we took her to Lowes--which is now her third favorite store behind Target and Hy-Vee.
